We’re powering progressive action across the organizing spectrum – whether you’re doing voter contact for a local campaign or ballot initiative, organizing at a union or nonprofit, or running a PAC.
About Universe
Universe is an all-in-one campaign management platform built in local campaign offices, for local progressive and Democratic organizers.
While volunteering on the ground with local campaigns back in 2018, we came to realize how much campaign tech has evolved to be fragmented, expensive, and built for large campaigns – leaving the grassroots candidates fighting for local causes without good support.
That’s why we started building Universe – exclusively for down ballot campaigns, local organizations, and first-time candidates – to give them access to all of the modern tooling they need to run their campaign, even without a large budget or in-house tech team.
Why Local Campaigns and Organizations?
We know that real change happens at the grassroots level. Down-ballot races have larger legislative consequences in our daily lives than national elections do. Moreover, they create grassroots groundswells that directly affect the top of the ticket. And, 70% of these local races go uncontested every year.
Down-ballot progressives are in crisis – and if we don’t start winning races locally, we can say goodbye to winning federal offices. That’s what we’re working on fixing.
