We’re excited to announce some significant upgrades to how you manage volunteers in the Universe App!
We know that volunteers are the backbone of your campaign, so the new volunteer management experience has been built to improve how you understand and interact with this vital community. These updates will be available starting on July 8th, 2024 as part of our commitment to continuously improve and provide better tools for progressive organizers in the field.
Here’s what you can expect starting on the 8th:
- See a simplified view of your full volunteer picture.
The new three-column visual format allows you to review and add volunteers while also seeing your overall volunteer stats at-a-glance.
- Sort and search for your volunteers more efficiently.
Use the search bar and people filters to see your volunteers quickly. Filter alphabetically, by most recently added, and by most recently contacted. - See individual volunteer stats by time period.
Ever wondered how many calls were made, texts were sent, or doors knocked by your volunteers? Now, you can easily track these metrics, by person and time period, right from your Volunteers Tab. - Find your star volunteers.
The clipboard-style results section will feature a leaderboard that shows you who your star volunteers are. You can filter the volunteer board by date, making it effortless to recognize your best volunteer of the week, or of all time. - Stay connected with your volunteers.
You can communicate 1-1 with volunteers through the app, or send out group updates, ensuring everyone is on the same page. This kind of direct communication with volunteers can foster a sense of community and keep your team engaged and motivated. - Analyze your volunteer strength by geographic area.
The update also integrates a brand-new map feature, enabling you to see the locations of in-district volunteers and understand the geographic areas where you have the strongest support. - See volunteer growth over time.

And this is just the beginning! We’re already working on adding even more functionality to the app to make volunteer management even simpler and more effective.
