As Head of Product at Universe and as a previous local campaign manager who used Universe myself, I’m very aware that the features of our tools directly affect the lives of the campaigns and organizations we serve. We are constantly working to make the tools from Universe as innovative, robust, and usable as possible. This means there’s a ton of power packed into one little app and we’re constantly adding more. Because of this, I’m starting a new series of blogs called, “Universe Feature Highlights,” to help current and future customers learn about some “pro-user features” that may change the way you organize and use the tool. Without further ado…
Do you know how to get the most out of Universe’s “Survey Question” feature?
Survey Questions help you and your volunteers keep track of information you learn during an outreach.
For example, if you’re doing a voter registration phone bank, you’ll want to know if the person you’ve called is registered to vote or not. Based on that information, you’ll be able to follow up or sort people later.
Below is an example of how survey questions show up for volunteers during the phone bank:
Creating a Global Survey Question
If you’re a voter registration organization, you may want this question to be available on every outreach you do. Global Survey Questions allow you to track responses for this question across your whole universe and by audiences segments.
If you want to add a global question, you add it in the settings panel. See below:
Creating a One-off Survey Question
Sometimes you might want to ask a question just one time. In this case you can add that survey questions when you create your outreach. This question will only show up this one time and you’ll only see these results by clicking into that outreach’s results tab.
Below is an example of adding a one-off Survey Question to a single outreach:
Good luck with your outreaches! And remember, you can always send product feedback to [email protected]. Need support? Email [email protected].
